Labour for the Arts – Culture Cabaret

150702Labour for the arts-culture cabaretEdinburgh councillor Norma Austin Hart invites you to a Culture Cabaret!

The next Culture Cabaret hosted by Labour for the Arts will be on 30 July in the Voodoo Rooms, Edinburgh.

This promises to be even more exciting than last year’s event. Through the Culture Cabaret we want to stimulate discussion about the relationship between left politics and culture in Scotland today.

We will be joined by Scottish Labour leadership contenders Kezia Dugdale and Ken Macintosh, as well as Shadow Scottish Secretary Ian Murray and new Scottish Labour lead on culture, Claire Baker.

Challenging them and each other will be journalists Simon Pia and Joyce McMillan, and Mr Scottish storytelling Donald Smith.

We will have live music, with singers Alison Dowling, Pauline MacNeill and Lawrence Cowan; poetry by Jim Monaghan; and storytelling by Annie George. All will be held together by the wit and special charm of comedian Susan Morrison.

Expect the unexpected, maybe even another special guest. Turn up to find out more!

Date: Thursday 30 July
Time: from 7.30pm till late
Venue: Voodoo Rooms, 19a West Register St, Edinburgh EH2 2AA

This is a free event hosted by Labour for the Arts. If you would like to join us please RSVP to normahart@austinhart.org. Thanks!
